People have always told me how privileged I am. How lucky I am to be my parents’ daughter and to lead the charmed life that I do. Yes, to a certain extent I do feel very privileged. I don’t need to slave in a factory all hours of the day just to make ends meet, and I can afford (although this could be up for debate) to buy most things that I want be it a new pair of Gucci sunglasses or 20 pairs of crocs (not all were for me!)
However, my life pales in comparison to the ones led by Rose and Sage ( I had planned to name my next girl child this and am even more convinced to do so now)…now THAT is what I call Privileged.
Privileged is a brand new show airing on the CW in the US and its definitely targetted at the ex-WB audience. Its fluff stuff, chick lit, and I totally love it.
If you’re like me, and you love shows like Gilmore Girls, Everwood, What I Like About You and romantic comedies like How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days or Devil Wears Prada, or Just My Luck, you’ll enjoy Privileged.
Megan is an Ivy League grad who dreams of being a serious journalist, but an opportunity to work with one of her idols lands her the job as a tutor to said idol’s bratty twin (fraternal) granddaughters.
The twins, Rose & Sage are totally channeling Alicia Silverstone’s Clueless Cher, read good heart and a conscience that needs a little prodding beneath all that Chanel, Gucci, Dolce and Seven for Mankind jeans 🙂
But what makes Privileged enjoyable are all the plotting the girls do to get out of schoolwork, as well as the ups and downs of Megan’s lovelife and how she adjusts to being manhandled by the teenagers as well as fitting into the Palm Beach lifestyle. Another side plot explores her estranged relationship with her father, sister and loopy mother!
Happy viewing ahead…can’t wait to finish off the season.
(if anyone thinks Megan looks familiar, its because she used to be on Reba and she was BLONDE then…i definitely think RED suits her waaay better).
